I’m Elena Santogade and my home cheesemaking adventures eventually led me to pursue a full-blown career in the cheese industry. I started as a cheesemonger, became an American Cheese Society Certified Cheese Professional® and went on to open and manage two distinct cheese-focused retail operations in New York City. I worked with Connecticut-based Arethusa Farm in 2014 on product development and sales, and I am currently a Sales Manager for Grafton Village Cheese Co. in Vermont.
I live a self-described “delicious life” with my partner Josh, a chef, in Brooklyn, NY. At any given time I can be found nibbling on one of the half-dozen cheeses in my fridge, or out around town with Josh, enjoying all that New York City has to offer.
